Why do you need an annual pallet truck inspection?

The HSE states that you need to have an annual examination to ensure that your pallet trucks are safe to use. This is a legal requirement!

We know that Health & Safety obligations can feel like they get in the way of just getting on with your day-to-day, so we do everything we can to make sure our annual pallet truck inspections are as simple, straightforward and hassle-free as possible, without cutting any corners. They’re great value, too!

We carry out inspections at a huge range of premises, including warehouses, supermarkets, logistics companies, offices, universities, colleges, schools and hospitals. Wherever pallet trucks are used, we’ll be happy to come out and take a look.

PUWER inspections for pallet trucks

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (or PUWER for short) covers a wide range of work equipment, including pallet trucks.

To meet your legal obligation under these regulations, you’ll need to have your trucks inspected at least once a year, to ensure they’re in safe working order.

As part of the inspection, our engineers will advise you of any repairs needed to bring them up to scratch so that you can decide how to move forward.  We’ll also provide you with all of the documentation you need to show that you’ve maintained your certification.

Do you need a LOLER inspection for a pallet truck?

The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (or LOLER for short) covers lifting equipment, including stair climbers.

The HSE doesn’t include standard pump trucks in this legislation. However, it does include high-lift pallet trucks.

We provide LOLER certification inspections too, so if you have both kinds of equipment just let us know when you book your service!
